Canicross is trail running with your dog. It is an exciting, fast growing sport and a fantastic passtime allowing you to get fit and spend more time with your four legged best friend. It is the safest way of running with your dog because of the specially designed equipment used, allowing you to run hands free and for you to both run comfortably together.
You don't have to be an experienced runner to enjoy canicross. It really is suitable for almost all people and dogs of all sizes and all ages (once your dog is fully grown, usually around 12-18 months old).
Exercising with your dog is a great time saving way to get fit, to build a great bond with your dog and meet new people. By using the correct equipment and taking part regularly, you'll soon see results.
Andy has owned dogs for over twenty years and has been running with dogs for over ten years, so becoming a canicross trainer really is combining several things he is passionate about all in one place.
Andy and his Chocolate Labrador, Gem, completed a Canicross training programme in May 2019. Despite being six years old, Gem loves hanging out with Andy's two boys and will generally act just like a puppy! She loves running, chasing balls and food! Andyand Gem are looking forward to their other dog, Spike, joining in with runs once he's a year old.
It is because of his passion for helping others achieve their fitness goals and a love of dogs, that Andy is convinced canicross will be great for helping new clients achieve their peak fitness.
